Camping

One of the best ways to "get away from it all" is to camp with your family. Gilmer County's camping facilities are as close, or far, from town as you would like, without or without all the indemnities.

Cedar Creek State Park

CCSP has 37 standard sites with electric hookups, parking pads, a grill and picnic table and another 10 campsites without electric. They also have a ten-site group camp. Camp Sites in the park are popular, and reservations sometimes extend into the next year.

Gilmer County Recreation Center

The Gilmer County Recreation Park offers camper spots with electrical hookup, lodge rooms, and cabins with restrooms and showers at the lowest price anywhere. Excellent for groups, the center always offers meeting, conference and event space and kitchen services, and includes a nine-hole golf course!
